Food Server - Seattle
Come join the circus! Our servers are our guests' first contact with the circus environment of Teatro ZinZanni. They are responsible for all guest related services in the tent. All interactions are performed with finesse and the panache befitting the atmosphere of the Teatro ZinZanni Spiegeltent. Teatro ZinZanni is a fine dining restaurant and theatrical performance environment; experience and comfort with enthusiasm for this work environment is essential. Responsibilities
Models integration of Teatro ZinZanni's Vision and Values in performance of daily duties and operations:
- Take care of our guests' needs in a warm and efficient manner.
Greet customers warmly with a smile and eye contact at door and at tableside.
Serve and clear each course utilizing professional fine dining standards.
Participate in featured segments of the show as specified by the show director and have the ability to be invisible and not disrupt the show when not in featured segments.
Know your timing around the show and your cues for featured segments and display fantastic showmanship.
Able to handle stressful situations is under pressure, and still treat your guests, peers and managers with respect.
Take & ring in accurate food and beverage orders utilizing table and seat numbers on the proper tab.
Ensure that our guests are served promptly while working with the entire service team and bar staff to prevent over service of alcohol.
Knowledge of all cocktail recipes, beer and wine. Demonstrate the ability to answer questions about menu items and beverages and offer up sells to each guest.
Manage all cash, credit card, and gift card transactions promptly, efficiently, and accurately.
Keep all areas clean and organized constantly throughout the shift and at the end of shift. Includes, but not limited to: Side work, POS areas, dressing rooms & used office space.
Be an active team member throughout the night which includes but is not limited to scraping dishes, running drinks, running food, bussing as well as keeping up with co-workers in sales.
Be ready and professional for work.
Essential skills, education, and experience:
- Minimum high school graduate or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of experience in a fine dining environment
An open and flexible schedule
Ability to see, hear and verbally communicate with the public in English
Ability to self-locomote without assistance
Must have or be able to obtain Washington State certified food handlers permit
Must have or be able to obtain Washington State liquor service permit
Can take direction and is quick to think and respond
Understanding of and participates in a Team Work environment
Past experience as a performer is preferred
Well-groomed and professional appearance
Good physical condition
Ability to lift 40 lbs

SHOW SUMMARY: Since its opening, Teatro ZinZanni has been delighting audiences with its swirling stream of performance, music and comedy presented in the elegance and intimate comfort of an antique Belgian spiegeltent or mirror tent. Best known for regular evening three-hour performances that blend cirque, comedy and cabaret served up with a five-course gourmet meal, Teatro ZinZanni performances now include 90-minute Sweet Sunday Brunches, late night Mezzo Lunatico experiences, the special children's' program Zirkus Fantazmo, and Camp ZinZanni, a summer education program for kids ages 5 to 16. In 2011, Teatro Zinzanni is an independent non-profit arts organization. Teatro ZinZanni presents a full evening of entertainment, combining cirque artists and clowns, European cabaret singers, opera singers and jugglers with live music and a gourmet five-course meal. Set in an antique jewel box tent imported from Belgium, Teatro ZinZanni is located in the heart of Seattle Center's Theatre District.
