About Teatro ZinZanni

Teatro ZinZanni was originally launched in Seattle by Norm Langill and One Reel in 1998. Originally intended for a short run during the holiday season, the initial production enjoyed 14-sold out months leading to a permanent show in Seattle and expansion into San Francisco. After 13 successful years, One Reel launched Teatro ZinZanni as an independent arts organization in 2011.

Since it’s opening, Teatro ZinZanni has been delighting audiences with its swirling stream of performance, music and comedy presented in the elegance and intimate comfort of an antique Belgian spiegeltent or mirror tent. Best known for regular evening three-hour performances that blend cirque, comedy and cabaret served up with a multi-course gourmet meal, Teatro ZinZanni performances now include 90-minute Sweet Sunday Brunches, late night Mezzo Lunatico experiences, the special children’s’ program Zirkus Fantazmo, and Camp ZinZanni, a summer education program for kids ages 5 to 16. In 2011, Teatro Zinzanni is an independent non-profit arts organization headquartered in Seattle. For more information visit our company page.

Norman Langill
President & Artistic Director

Norman Langill Norman is the creator of the special world of Teatro ZinZanni. He began his journey in 1972 with the creation of One Reel, the once traveling, off-beat vaudeville troupe that created campy classics, performed from the fold-down stage of an old 1931 Model A truck. Norman's career broadened to stage and screen actor, Emmy award-winning writer, playwright, director, producer, and Chief Executive Officer and President of One Reel. In 2011, 13 years after the creation of Teatro ZinZanni, Norman went back to his roots, leaving One Reel to serve full-time as president and artistic director of Teatro ZinZanni – producing campy classics performed in an old tent.

While best known for high-profile projects like Bumbershoot, Summer Nights at the Pier, the Family Fourth on Lake Union, WOMAD Festival and other live events Norman is more likely to cite his other accomplishments: orchestrating the first live performance of Spinal Tap; producing the first U.S. National tour of The Grand Kabuki Theatre of Japan; and producing the original tri-lingual musical Gumbo YaYa at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.
